Taofik Ogunremi Lawal qualified a Prizewinner with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), in November 1982. He attended Lisabi Grammar School, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta and Aberdeen College of Commerce, Scotland, Uk. He is a Council Member of the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN). He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) and Insol International. He is a member of the Institute of Directors, London and Nigeria.
He trained with Messrs PKF Pannell Kerr Forster, an International practicing firm of Chartered Accountants and became a Partner in the Nigerian Practice in 1989 and retired in 2004. He became the Chairman of WT Securities Limited in 2005 and resigned in 2009. He formed Private Investors Club in 1992 and became the Director General/Chief Executive Officer in 2010.
He was the Liquidator of Kano Oil Millers Limited in 1986, part of the Receiver/Manager team for Nigerian Cable Manufacturing and Engineering Company Limited in 1989, Company Secretary of Ashaka Cement PLC from 1989 to 2005. He was responsible for the audit and Consultancy assignments for many Medium and Small Scale manufacturing Companies in Kano, Sokoto, Abuja, Maiduguri and Kaduna.
He was the Noble Chairman of Lisabi Club (Nigeria), Kano Branch, Secretary of Northern Zone of Nawair-ud-deen Society, President of the Association of Muslim Professionals, Kano Branch, President of the Rotary Club of Bompai, District 9120 and President of the Rotary Club of Lagos Central, District 9110 at various times. He is a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary international and a member of the Paul Harris Society. He was a founding member of the Ogun State Indigenes Association, Kano State. He was the Deputy President of the Yoruba Community, Kano State.
He is the Chairman/CEO of Messrs TAOFIK LAWAL & CO, Chartered Accountants, Insolvency and Taxation Practitioners, A member of the Abeokuta Chamber of Commerce, industries, Mines and Agriculture (ABEOCCIMA) He is a member of Ikoyi Club and Abeokuta Sports Club.
He is married with children.
